Carnaby Jeans

The one thing I don't need is another pair of jeans. Or so I thought, until, after a tip-off from a friend who works in fashion, I found Palome. I chose Carnaby - mainly because they weren't high rise - thinking that I could return them if they didn't work...but that was nearly 3 weeks ago and they have rapidly become my go-to jeans. The quality of the denim is amazing, the fit was spot on and (once I shortened them) I just loved how they looked on me. They smarten up beautifully too, so i know I'll get so much wear out of them. They were worth every penny and I look every bit as stylish as much more expensive brands. I'm not sure how Palome do it...but I'm just really glad they do!

I love these jeans, I bought these alongside the Royal Jeans intending to return a pair but I'm keeping both. Now let's be honest I'm a size 16 and they're not going to look quite like they do on the model, but what I love about them is they're straightish leg not too wide. Sometimes loose fit jeans can really billow out and look crazy when you're a bigger size. These look like wide leg jeans, proportional and fall to just the right length on me to hit my trainers where they should (I'm 5 ft 6, 44 hip, 31 inside leg) I find the shape quite leg lengthening. The royals are softer and lighter denim, these are slightly darker and slightly thicker so they keep there shape better, I think that's why I like them as wide leg as well as rolled into a barrel shape. They have stretched at the waist but not massively, just enough to give you some cheeky breathing space if you're on the upper end of your size!

The quality is outstanding - proper, heavy denim with a smooth finish. I went one size down and they’re perfect.

I adore the shape and the soft feel. They do relax a bit after a few wears, so a smaller size is best.

Wearing the Carnaby jeans in a UK 8, they fit comfortably around my 25.2" waist and 36.6" hips. At 5ft 4, the length just reaches the floor, giving a polished, elongated look. The waist sits well and feels natural, not restrictive. The denim is structured with a clean line, making it easy to dress up or down. The fit runs true to size - ideal if you like a relaxed, full-length silhouette.

The Carnaby jeans in a UK 8 fit with a relaxed feel on my 25.2" waist and 35.8" hips. The waistband sits between mid-rise and low-rise, giving a casual, slightly slouchy look. At 5ft 3 , the hem reaches the floor when I wear flats, creating a smooth, full-length drape. The denim feels firm and holds its shape well, offering structure without stiffness. It runs true to size if you prefer a relaxed fit; those wanting a neater waistline could size down or pair them with a small heel for the perfect break.

I’m 5ft 6 (waist 24", hips 32") and the Carnaby in UK 8 runs tight on me. The waistband feels snug and I do get some pulling at the crotch, and because the denim doesn’t stretch, it doesn’t soften much with movement. The length just covers the top of my shoes and looks sleek, but comfort-wise I’d go up a size for longer wear. Temple in UK 8 feels more forgiving at the waist, and even Harley - also rigid - sits a touch better on me than Carnaby. If you’re between sizes or fuller through the hips, I’d size up.

I’m 5ft 3 (waist 25.2", hips 35.8") and the Carnaby in UK 8 has a relaxed feel overall. The rise reads mid to low on me and the hem reaches the floor in flats, which gives that easy, flowing drape. The fabric is firm and non-stretch, but it isn’t stiff, so it keeps a neat straight leg. Compared with Harley, which feels higher and more structured at the waist, Carnaby is easier and more casual; compared with Temple, it’s less clingy and a little cleaner through the leg. True to size works for a relaxed straight fit; I’d just hem slightly or wear a small heel.
