Better made than I expected at this price

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect for £40 - most linen tops I've bought at this price have either been thin enough to see through or felt scratchy after one wash. This one has been a pleasant surprise. The fabric has a proper weight to it, the seams are neat, and the buttons feel like they'll stay put. I've been wearing it open over a black tank in the evenings and buttoned with linen trousers during the day. It does crease, as linen does - I give it a quick press before going out, but I don't mind that. The black is a true black, not the washed-out kind.

The little details add up

What surprised me when it arrived was how considered the small things are - the buttons with a soft sheen, the stitching is even, and the linen has actual texture you can feel rather than looking flat. At £40 I wasn't expecting any of that.
